How to change the access number in your dialling software

These instructions change the number to the Renmark access number, 8580 4444. To call our modems in Waikerie, change it to 85 410 410. If you aren't within a local call of those, change it to use 0198 333 613.

Windows Vista

  1. Click the Start button. Look on the right side for Control Panel and click it.
  2. After the Control Panel window opens, look for Network and Internet, and click that.
  3. Once Network and Internet opens, click on "Connect to a network".
  4. After you've selected your dial up connection, click "Connect" at the bottom of the window.
  5. Here, you will be presented with your connection screen. As you can see, it will give you a place to type your username, password, as well as what access number is currently in use. # Type in your new access number into the box provided.
  6. Click "Connect".
  7. click yes on the next window
  8. You've finished - try it out.

Windows XP

  1. From the Start menu, click Connect To, and choose your connection.
  2. Click the Properties button.
  3. Delete the contents of the Phone number field, and type your new access number.
  4. Click the OK button.
  5. You've finished - try it out.

Windows 95 or 98
(Windows ME users:-Dial-up Networking is in MY COMPUTER, CONTROL PANEL)

  1. At the top left corner of your desktop is an icon called 'My Computer'. You may have to close or move windows to see it.
  2. Double-click 'My Computer'.
  3. Inside the window, double-click 'Dial-up networking'. (for ME, click on CONTROL PANEL)
  4. You should see an icon called 'Riverland Internet', 'My Connection', 'Connection to [phone_number]' or similar.
  5. On this icon, please do ONE click with the RIGHT mouse button. This should give you a small menu beside the icon, with 'Properties'.
  6. Click Properties.
  7. Type in the new phone number instead of the old one. The Renmark number is 8580 4444
  8. Make sure there's NO tick for "Use country code and area code".
  9. Click OK. You've finished - try it out.

Windows 3.x

This assumes you're using the Netscape connection kit that we supply. If you're not, these instructions may not work for your software. If it isn't obvious how to change the number, contact whoever installed the software, or phone us for help on 85 866 425.

For our connection kit:

  1. In the Program Manager, double-click on the Netscape group to open it.
  2. Double-click the Riverland Internet dialler.
  3. Click on the Properties button.
  4. Click on the Locations tab.
  5. Find the field for the Provider Phone Number. Type the new number (8580 4444) instead of the old one.
  6. Click OK. You've finished - try it out.

Macintosh - MacPPP

  1. Under the Apple menu, open Control Panels.
  2. In Control Panels, open Config-PPP
    With 'Riverland Internet' showing (probably already is),
  3. click 'Config'
  4. Type in the new phone number - 8580 4444 - instead of the old one.
  5. Click 'Done'. You've finished - try it out.

Macintosh - FreePPP

  1. Open the FreePPP Setup program - probably what you use to start an Internet connection.
  2. If necessary, click the small triangle on the lower left corner, so the window opens fully and you can see the 'Accounts' tab.
  3. Click the Accounts tab.Click the 'Riverland Internet' (or whatever it is called) item on the left, then click 'Edit...'
  4. You may have to click the 'Account' tab.
  5. Type in the new phone number instead of the old one - 8580 4444
  6. Click OK. You've finished - try it out.
