Riverland Internet is pleased to offer ADSL connections in Barmera, Barmera West, Berri, Cadell, Glossop, Lameroo, Loxton, Loxton North, Monash, Morgan, Murrayville, Paringa, Pinnaroo, Swan Reach, Renmark, Renmark West, Renmark North, Waikerie and Winkie.
Until Telstra enables their exchanges for ADSL in the other Riverland towns, only sites connected to the exchanges listed above can get ADSL. Also, not every phone line on those exchanges will be suitable for ADSL. If in doubt, ask us and we'll find out for you.
Update: (21 November) The Cadell, Monash, Renmark North and Winkie exchanges are now enabled for ADSL.
Even if your town or area isn't listed here, please let us know that you're looking for broadband. If we know that a lot of people are looking in an area, there's a better chance of getting a service there.

What is ADSL?
ADSL is a faster way of connecting to the internet using your phone line. It is one kind of "broadband" - some others are cable internet, satellite, wireless. ADSL uses your normal telephone line, but sends data over it much faster than a 56k dialup modem can. While this is happening, you can still use the phone line as normal, to make phone calls, send faxes, etc. The price and performance are very good, relative to other types of broadband.
Why Riverland Internet?
Wouldn't you rather deal with a local business? Many people living in the Riverland have come to appreciate our reliability (and our network's) and our fair trading. We're not a get-rich-quick outfit, we aim to stay in business, so our prices are fair to both you and us. We're owned by The Murray Pioneer, and while we haven't been in business for a hundred years as they have, we do aim to look after our customers in the long term.

Plans
All prices include GST. Our most popular plans are listed here: others are available, so if you need something different, please ask us.Most Popular Plans (November 2007)

- Shaped plans: The connection runs at full speed until the included MB have been used. Then the connection is traffic shaped (speed limited) to 64 kbps. There are no fees for excess megabytes.
64 kbps is still faster than a dialup modem. It's usable for email and light web browsing.- 8M plans: We cannot guarantee the actual line speed: it depends on the quality and length of the phone line. We won't know the speed until the connection is installed.
Which plan would be best for me? Most of our customers choose the 256-1 or 256-20 plans for home or small offices, with larger businesses going for faster options.
If you're using our dialup plans, we can look at previous usage and give you fair advice. Also, we can change plans: there are no long term contracts here.
What about "Unlimited" plans? The "shaped" plans are "unlimited download" plans. If you do use more than the amount of data that's included, there are no extra charges: instead, your connection will be slowed to 64 kbps until the end of the billing period. 64 kbps is still usable for email and basic web access.

Charges for less common situations
- All ADSL connections attract a line-setup charge of $130. This sets up your phone line for ADSL: this work is done by Telstra at the phone exchange. We can install the ADSL modem at your home/office for $66 (plus the cost of the modem). Most people who are comfortable with a PC can do this installation themselves, and of course we'll help on the phone.
- You'll need an ADSL modem. (November 2007) We recommend and supply the Open Networks 622 ($77 inc GST), which will connect one or more PCs to the internet, has the features most people need and will give reliable service. We can also supply the Open 625W with wireless for $154.
If you buy one from us, we'll set it up with your login details, which makes it easier for you to install.
With our service, you can choose any modem as long as it's approved for connection to Telstra's network. There is a wide range available, and if you choose something we haven't seen, we may not be able to help you as much with its installation.
- Depending on how you're using your phone line now, you may need one or more ADSL line filters. These are needed when you connect a normal phone, fax etc. to the ADSL-enabled phone line, and start at $11. If you need extra telephone cabling work done in your premises, that cabling will be your responsibility. Most people don't - we're happy to discuss it with you beforehand.
- Early termination of account: If you terminate your ADSL account with us less than 6 months after opening it, you'll be liable for a charge of $66.
- Change of line speed after commencement: a charge of $55.
- Any help-line call our customers make to Telstra regarding a Riverland Internet ADSL service will incur a charge from Telstra. Riverland Internet will pass this $55 charge on to the user. So, please ask us first if you have a problem!

Please read our detailed ADSL terms and conditions document. We need the ADSL application form to be signed by the customer before we can open an ADSL account. We also require the setup fee to be paid in advance.
