Important Mobile Broadband Information
Free modem or $39 WIFI router on a 24 month plan is only available if the hardware is shipped directly to our customer via our Supplier, the higher postage rate is the charge from our Supplier and we have no control over this charge.
Early Termination Fees Apply to all contract plans except the zero month contract, if the customer cancels their service before the contract expires. For 6 month plans the fee is $100, for 12 month plans the fee is $150 and for 24 month plans the fee is $200. The early termination fee is a flat rate fee, there are no other exit charges or contract payout fees. This is not a penalty, it is a fair assesment of losses to us by early termination of contract. Contract plans offer some discount or differences based on total minimum spend.
Capped Data - means data is capped at the monthly allowance listed. Your plan is capped by default so that you don't exceed the monthly quota of your plan, if your plan quota runs out before the end of the month, the service will be temporarily stopped until the following month begins.
Uncapped Data – means that your plan will continue working if you go over your monthly allowance listed on your plan. You can choose to Uncap your plan and you will be charged for additional data at $0.09c/MB until the following month begins. WARNING: the Uncapped option can leave you open to “bill shock”, meaning an unexpectedly high bill at the end of the month for excess data. Riverland Internet offers this option as a convenience for customers wanting flexibility in data usage, but we do NOT recommend this option. Assuming 1GB = 1024MB, on an Uncapped plan you would expect to pay $92.16 per GB of excess data used, plus your normal monthly access and data charge.
Important note for Capped plans – Where the customer is in a session at the time that they reach their monthly data limit, the session may continue beyond the Cap. Where possible, Riverland Internet and our Supplier/mobile network carrier will attempt to stop plans at the data cap, this may cause loss or corruption of data in the current session being uploaded or downloaded. Riverland Internet accepts no responsibility for loss or corruption of such data transfers.
MBB-M2M plan has no contract, no data allowance and no data cap, use what you like without restriction and pay per MB used at the end of each month. WARNING: For heavy users this plan is NOT recommended. This plan is ONLY recommended for low usage and/or dialup customers looking for a faster or more convenient alternative to what they have now. Assuming 1GB = 1024MB, on this plan you would expect to pay $61.44 per GB of data plus the monthly access fee. This plan can be cancelled at any time without penalty or any cancellation fees.
A plan can be upgraded to a higher value plan, but cannot be downgraded to a lower value plan. If for some reason you wish to downgrade your plan once out of contract, you will need to cancel your existing service and sign up for a new, lower plan service. This can be done by purchasing a SIM only for $15 and signing up for a new plan, then terminating your old plan and exchanging SIM cards in your modem/device (we can help you with this).
Monthly service and access fees are invoiced in advance and payable before the commencement of each month invoiced. Excess data is invoiced in arrears once we receive usage information from our Supplier at the end of each month. Invoices for excess data are payable within 7 days of invoice date, unless otherwise agreed in writing by Riverland Internet.
Data usage will be calculated as a combined total of uploads and downloads in Kilobytes (KB) and calculated on a calendar month. For all purposes 1Megabyte (MB) = 1,024 Kilobytes (KB). Usage charges will apply when Riverland Internet Mobile Broadband is transferring data over the GSM, 3G/HSDPA Networks or other roaming partners as advised from time to time. If you exceed your monthly included usage allowance in any given billing period, the excess usage rate will apply. Unused data allowance in any month cannot be rolled into subsequent months.
Subject to your rights under the Trade Practices Act, Riverland Internet does not make any warranty regarding the software or data provided to you as it operates on your computer and interacts with your other applications.
Plans may only be used for data and SMS usage. SMS usage is not included in the data inclusions and is charged separately at 25c per SMS sent on all MBB plans. We recommend using your mobile phone service for SMS to avoid confusion about charges.
Riverland Internet will only provide support for hardware supplied by Riverland Internet. You can choose to insert a SIM provided to you by Riverland Internet into your own device, such as a tablet PC, Mobile Broadband sharing device, or other such hardware however Riverland Internet will not guarantee the suitability or compatibility of such devices, nor support the functionality of the device.
