Your appreciation of the various components of the riverine environment will be heightened by Allan’s sharing with you his experience and personal knowledge of the area.
Working daily on the river for nearly 20 years has given Allan an understanding of the subtle changes taking place.
There is excitement as the wind blows in your hair, birds fly around and the riverbanks flash by as you travel quickly up the Murray River on the first part of your tour. Peace and quiet descends as you slow down in the backwaters proper and at times the boat stops and the engine turned off to listen to the birds, maybe the fish jumping in the water or perhaps see kangaroos or emus drinking at the creeks' edge – you never know what one may see or hear.
Looking closely at the water plants right next to you and the aquatic life amongst them, the different types of reeds and special plants in the understory will give you a greater appreciation and perspective of the environment around you. Four distinct and diverse seasons throughout the year, different daily weather patterns and different times of the day all offer you a distinct experience. Along with Allan departure times and length of tour are negotiated with your preferences in mind |
