Introduction
Each year, Gluepot runs a series of environmental courses and workshops where participants are taught hands-on skills in subjects such as birdwatching, bat identification, nature photography, nature illustration etc. Courses are held in the recently refurbished Environmental Education Centre at Gluepot Rserve and generally run over a two- or three day period. Costs are kept minimal - around the $100 mark per person - and include GST, morning and afternoon teas, camping fees and any course hand-out materials. The only form of accommodation at Gluepot is camping; some people prefer to stay in Waikerie but this is at least an hours' drive each way. Courses generally commence at 9.30am on the first day, so it is suggested that course participants try to arrive at Gluepot the afternoon before. Courses will finish at about 4.00pm on the last day. Course participants are welcome to stay on at the Reserve, following the completion of courses.
