The Fixed Wireless connections can deliver download speeds up to 12 megabit/second, and upload speeds up to 1 Mbit/sec. This is similar to a mid-range ADSL connection. See below for more about wireless speeds.
You don't need a phone line to get Fixed Wireless. This service is ideal for people who have been unable to get ADSL.
To find out more, please contact us on 08 8586 8080 (Mon-Fri 8-6), by email or through our broadband enquiry form. If you're ready to get connected, please complete the application form and return it to us.

These plans:
- * Are traffic shaped (speed limited) to 128 kbps once the allowance is used. There are no fees for excess megabytes (unless the "Business Extras" option is selected). 128 kbps is still faster than a dialup modem. It's usable for email and light web browsing.
- * Their usage allowances include both downloads and uploads. If you add the "Extras" or "Business Extras" options, only the download amount is counted.
- * In case you run out of megabytes, you can purchase "data blocks" to get back your normal speed.
- * Do not have peak / offpeak times. You can use it any time you like.
- * Are provided with a dynamic IP address. If you require a static IP address, please add an "Extras" or "Business Extras" option (see below).
- * The actual speeds attained are likely to be less than 12 / 1 Mbps, due to factors affecting the wireless link. These include distance, terrain, atmospheric conditions and the number of people using the service. You should normally be able to reach speeds of at least 1,000 kbit/s / 256 kbit/s: most users have much better results than this.
- * GST is included in all prices on this page.
| Options for Fixed Wireless plans | ||
| Extras | Static IP address. Uploads not counted. Shaping increased to 256/256 kbps. | $10 added to monthly fee |
| Business Extras | Static IP address. Routed /29 subnet. Uploads not counted. No traffic shaping: all traffic runs at full speed, but with an excess charge of $5 per GB (with a maximum excess charge of $299 in a month). | $30 added to monthly fee |
Application form for Fixed Wireless services
Riverland Internet's terms and conditions for new Fixed Wireless services
The following terms are for existing customers who connected with ABG funding:
Riverland Internet's terms and conditions, and Acceptable Use policy, for Wireless DSL with Australian Broadband Guarantee
What is Fixed Wireless?
It's a type of broadband that uses a wireless connection from our tower to your home/office. (The Fixed part means that your end is at a fixed location.) In order to get high performance and to work a good distance from the tower, it uses an antenna installed on your roof. It's suitable for home or office broadband connections.
Can I get it at my address?
Wireless DSL needs the antenna on your roof/mast to have a good "line of sight" to our tower, and to be within 30 km of the tower. If you're within range, and there are no hills, buildings etc between, there's a good chance it will work. Please contact us for more details of the coverage. A "site survey" will be done before installation, and if the service cannot be installed, the application will cost you nothing.
What plan would be best for me?
If you're looking to connect a single PC for some web browsing, email, ebay etc then a 5 GB plan will be fine.
If you want to stream video, spend a lot of time on facebook, download music and movies etc then more gigabytes will be needed. You can talk to us about it at any time and we can help you decide.
If you've using our dialup plans or other broadband plans, we can look at previous usage and give you fair advice. Also, you can change plans: there are no long term contracts here.
