The South Australian Water Corporation, (SA Water) is the contracting authority to the Murray Darling Basin Comission for the operation  and maintenance of the River Murray control structures Locks1 to 9, Lake Victoria Storage  and the 5 barrages on the  Coorong near Goolwa.
The River Murray Operations Unit, (RMOU) a part of Bulk Water Division of SA Water undertakes these responsibilities. It is  based in Berri, South Australia in a Region usually referred to as the "Riverland".
